Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimation & Costing:
    • Study project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to prepare accurate cost estimates.
    • Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for all fit‑out elements including joinery, gypsum works, flooring, painting, glass, metal, and MEP items.
    • Request, receive, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Analyse material, labour, equipment, and subcontracting costs to prepare competitive pricing.
    • Conduct site visits (when required) to assess technical requirements and measurement accuracy.
    • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and pricing sheets for management review.
  • Tender & Proposal Preparation:
    • Prepare tender submissions including technical and financial proposals.
    • Ensure all tender requirements and documents are fully completed and compliant.
    • Assist in preparing value engineering options to improve cost competitiveness.
    • Coordinate with design team to align drawings and specifications with pricing.
  • Coordination & Communication
    • Work closely with procurement to source materials and update pricing databases.
    • Liaise with project managers to understand historical costing and execution challenges.
    • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate best prices and terms.
    • Review project changes/variations and prepare variation cost estimates.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Maintain an updated database for material rates, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing.
    • Prepare weekly estimation status reports for management.
    • Archive project files, quotes, BOQs, and tender documents for future reference.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience as an Estimator in a fit-out / interior design company (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of joinery, interiors, materials, finishes, and MEP basics.
  • Proficiency in reading drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software/tools.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders with tight deadlines.
